Do I need an expensive camera?

No. Most walks explicitly welcome phones — it is about heading out together and the eye, not the gear.

What happens on a photowalk?

The group walks a route with 2-3 photo stops, shoots, and compares notes. The best shots often get shared in the group chat afterwards.
